You should buy and read a book or two (Profit by Investing in Real Estate Tax Liens” by Larry Loftis comes to mind), then contact your County Treasurer's Office and ask for more info.

A lot of information on this site and forum, do a search on Google and read anything that comes up. If you think that making money with tax liens is easy, then you should think twice. It can be quite profitable, but you need to know what you are doing.

Tax liens are bought mainly for the interest rate earned, while tax deed are bought if you want to acquire the property – this is oversimplified of course, but just make sure that you know the difference between the twp.
